Research Outbound
Reach for Research Outbound when the account is large enough to deserve a sourced argument, and the company has published something worth quoting.
- The account is public and has a recent 10-K or earnings call. The filing's own words become the opening, with the page or the quote beside them.
- The company sent an owner letter or a plan. A dated systems move or a growth plan gives each persona something specific to answer.
- A single email template would send the same story to every persona. The package writes one sequence per persona, each tied to the part of the account that person owns.
- The rep needs a point of view to defend on the first call. The brief states the verdict, the wedge and the reasons, each tagged.
It drafts only. It never sends, enrolls a contact or writes to the CRM.
Research outbound takes one enterprise account and reads what the company published, whether that is a public filing, an owner letter or an earnings call. The skill turns that reading into a point of view a rep can defend. The output is an ICP verdict with every zone's score beside it, a signal map, a wedge with its arithmetic shown, a short point of view brief, and an email sequence for each persona in your profile. Every quote comes from the source, and every number carries its source tag.
The depth is the point. An enterprise buyer's finance team can open the filing in a minute, so each line has to survive that check. The skill drops any claim it cannot trace back to a source.
Core Workflow
The order matters at three points. The role check and the account status come first, because the guard can stop the run before any research happens. The verdict comes before the wedge and the sequences, so a disqualified account never gets either one. The signal map comes after the zone scores, so the map cannot disagree with the verdict. A DISQUALIFY ends the run. An account owned by an AE who has not said yes gets one coordination note and nothing else.
Three Source Modes
The source decides the mode. A 10-K filing is checked first for the systems the company runs, because a company that runs its own system can be disqualified before any zone is scored. A private company, researched from an owner letter, a company page or news, runs every applicable persona for four emails each, at 120 words or fewer per email. An earnings call is timely. Its window runs seven to fourteen days, and it draws two or three personas with two emails each, at 100 words or fewer per email.
Claims And Quotes
Only tagged facts enter the profile. Industry claims come only from the Industry Context section of your profile, and each one keeps its own source and year. A quote appears only when the source contains it, with its location given. A proof point is named only when it is verified, or a benchmark with its source and date. An illustrative proof point is never named.
What It Reads
The skill reads these sections of your client profile: Industry Context for sourced industry facts, ICP Definitions for the account's ICP and segment, Qualification Zones with the Verdict Rule, Qualification Criteria for the disqualifiers and the Buying Triggers table with its persona who acts column, Buyer Personas for the sequence count, Value Propositions, Proof Points by status, and Competitive Landscape. The source itself is whatever you paste, link or upload.
It also opens the account's folder in your Context OS knowledge base, if the profile points to one, for the notes, calls and decisions already on file for that account.
If your assistant is connected to the CRM, the skill offers a read-only pull of account status, owner and open-deal stage, asks before it reads, and never writes back. Without that connector, the skill asks you for the status. Pasting the same records into the chat works the same way.
Where It Fits
This skill sits in the Qualify To Book chain. Account Qualification runs first, then Account Snapshot, then this skill or Trigger Event Outbound, then Meeting Prep. The point of view brief, the signal map, the wedge and the persona emails pass to Meeting Prep, so the first call starts from the same facts the outreach used. When the source names a specific incumbent, the work routes to Competitive Displacement. When it carries a dated event, the work routes to Trigger Event Outbound.
